Changxiao Cai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 2021, and his B.E. in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2016. His research interests lie broadly in the intersection of statistics, optimization, and machine learning. He is interested in developing provably scalable methods for information extraction from high-dimensional data, with an aim to achieve the optimal interplay between statistical accuracy and computational efficiency.
