Human-centered engineering design
Human Factors Engineering (HFE) is a discipline that aims to improve society by making technology work better for the people who use it. HFE strives to improve products, workplaces, work procedures and organizations by making them more comfortable, efficient, enjoyable, productive, safe and usable to diverse global human populations.
Who can take the HFE minor?
The HFE minor is open to all undergraduate students in the U-M College of Engineering except for students whose undergrad major is already Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) as they can already learn this course material through their degree requirements.
