Biography

Prior to retiring, Professor Keyserling taught courses in ergonomics, safety engineering and research proposal writing. His research interests included evaluating and predicting work posture, controlling posture related fatigue and injuries through improved workstation design, safety culture, and safety/ergonomic issues in facilities maintenance. Professor Keyserling held many administrative positions, including IOE Graduate Program Chair, Director of the University of Michigan Center for Occupational Health and Safety Engineering, and President of the Association of University Programs in Occupational Health and Safety. He is a Certified Safety Professional and a Certified Professional Ergonomist.
