Dr. Guzman is a primary faculty in the College of Engineering in Industrial and Operations Engineering (IOE) and in the Integrative Systems and Design (ISD) division where he has taught several courses since 2003. His teaching and research has been focused on the application of data analysis, simulation modeling and analytics in the improvement of products and processes using advanced mathematical modeling and statistics to develop empirical and analytical models in process improvement and optimization. His contributions have also included the use of innovative 3D digital technology in the automotive industry.

Research Interests

Dr. Guzman’s early work focused on the application of data analysis and analytics in the improvement of products and process using advanced mathematical modeling and statistics to develop empirical and analytical models. His contributions also included the use of innovative 3D digital technology as it was started to be adopted by world-class companies. More recently, he has worked and continue to work in significant research utilizing simulation and data science in a variety of scenarios with the purpose of developing better models for decision making, predictability of outcomes and continuous process improvement
