Dennis Blumenfeld has taught courses in economic decision-making, Markov processes, queueing systems, and operations analysis and management. Prior to joining University of Michigan, he was a staff research scientist at General Motors R&D Center, focusing on design and operations of manufacturing systems and logistics networks. He previously held faculty positions at Princeton University and University College London.
Dr. Blumenfeld is author of a book, Operations Research Calculations Handbook (CRC Press, 2010), and has published articles on transportation modeling, traffic flow, logistics, and production systems. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS).
