Professor Frantz teaches product and occupational safety management. He is also Principal Research Engineer and co-founder of Applied Safety and Ergonomics, Inc. His research, consulting, and professional interests encompass a wide variety of topics within human factors/ergonomics, product and occupational safety, and hazard communication. He regularly works with companies across the country to assist in the development and evaluation of safety information for consumer and industrial products. Professor Frantz has authored and co-authored numerous publications on the subject of warnings and instructions, including two books. He is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the Society for Technical Communication, and the Institute for Industrial Engineering. He is a Certified Product Safety Manager (CPSM), a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) and serves as the ASSE representative to the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) Committee Z535 on warning signs and labels.
