Course description:

Applications of task analysis, biomechanics, physiology for:

1. describing the physical human-machine system
2. evaluating visual, reach and strength task requirements
3. assessing fatigue and risk of chronic musculoskeletal disorders
4. assessing physical capacities of workers/users
5. synthesizing task demands and user capacities for design of equipment and user procedures
6. evaluation of alternative designs.

Prerequisites:

  • Prerequisites: IOE 333 or ME 211 or BME 231 I (human systems, manufacturing systems, basic stats) (2 credits)
